Welcome to the University of Oregon Center on Teaching and Learning, 2011 Research to Practice Conference Follow-Up website. Here you have access to a multitude of resources to assist your district, school, or classroom with implementation of the research-based educational recommendations and strategies presented at the conference on Nov. 3 and 4 in Portland. The Conference Keynote presentation, How to Think Straight About Research in Education by Dr. Keith E. Stanovich, is also posted for your use.
By clicking on one of the five strands of the 2011 CTL Conference, you will find a number of resource materials at your disposal. These include the presentations and handouts from all speakers within the strand, as well as an overview, key concepts and implications for practice that have been compiled to go along with each presentation.
In addition, you will find a suggested Professional Development Plan based upon the IES Practice Guides discussed within each strand, with the exception of Integrating Positive Behavioral and Reading Supports. Within the PD Plan section you will find a Self-Assessment tool specific to each area and a downloadable Action Plan form. Each of the key recommendations established in the corresponding IES Practice Guide are followed by suggested activities to guide your planning for Professional Development needs.
We hope you will find these tools helpful as you begin to dispense the knowledge and materials you and your colleagues gained by attending the conference. We also hope these materials will be of assistance as you begin to implement some of the key research-based recommendations discussed within each strand.
