ExpandDL: Building K-12 Bilingual Pathways

This 5-year Spencer Transformation Award project aims at expanding research and practice in high school bilingual education in the state of California. With an interdisciplinary team of bilingual teacher educators, researchers, and education leaders, the project will (1) evaluate the impact of high school bilingual programs in Anaheim Union High School District, (2) partner with school districts in Monterey and Woodland to create and sustain new high school bilingual programs, and (3) work with state, policy, and advocacy leaders to promote high school bilingual expansion across the state. The University of Oregon is partnering with several California universities on this project, and under the leadership of Dr. Ilana Umansky, will be leading quantitative research for the project.
