Description

This project focuses on identifying features of effective methods that caregivers (parents, grandparents, etc.) use to promote children's math understanding in informal learning environments, such as the home, libraries, and other learning spaces. This project uses meta-analysis to identify the effectiveness of math activities and interventions conducted with children ages 3-9 in informal learning environments and investigates significant moderating variables of treatment effects. This project includes partnerships with local organizations (e.g., libraries, department of health and welfare, home visiting programs) to disseminate research findings to caregivers.
